LEARN MOREIf your home tests high, we design and install a mitigation system sized to your foundation and your result. Most systems use a sealed suction point, a pipe, and a fan that vents soil gas above the roofline, then a retest to confirm the result.

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas found in homes across the United States, and Iowa is one of the most at-risk states. Every Iowa county is in EPA Radon Zone 1, the highest risk category. Radon exposure is one of the leading causes of lung cancer among nonsmokers, and while the gas is mostly associated with basements, it can move through a home. Since radon is invisible and odorless, only a test in your home can detect the level inside it.
There is no reason to guess. As your Central Iowa radon company, Clean Iowa Air can test your home and, if necessary, install a radon mitigation system. During a test, we will go over the process with you and answer your questions. If low levels are detected, you will have a clear result for your home. If high levels are detected, we will work with you to install a system to reduce radon and keep your home protected.
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas formed when uranium in soil and rock breaks down. It is invisible and odorless, it can enter a home through the foundation, and the only way to know your level is to test.
The US Environmental Protection Agency recommends fixing a home at or above 4.0 picocuries per liter, and considering a fix between 2.0 and 4.0. Iowa is in EPA Radon Zone 1, the highest risk category, so testing is worth doing even in a newer home.
Most homes are fixed with sub-slab depressurization. A sealed suction point under the slab is connected by pipe to a fan, which vents soil gas above the roofline. A test after installation confirms the level has dropped.
